CARING AND MAINTAINING YOUR HARDWOOD FLOORING

Once you have had hardwood flooring put down in your home, it is vitally important that you take the time to care and maintain it to ensure that it lasts you for many years. Wood, like any other type of floor covering requires attention every now and then and should be cleaned to the specification set out by the hardwood flooring specialist who laid the flooring.

They will have advised you about what you can and cannot do in terms of cleaning and maintaining your hardwood flooring. Should you have any spillages or accidents on your hardwood flooring they should be wiped up immediately, to prevent any liquids soaking into the flooring and damaging it. This principle works the same when you are mopping your hardwood flooring, you should use a minimal amount of water possible or a specialist hardwood flooring cleaner where appropriate.

If you properly take care of your hardwood flooring, you will find that it lasts you for many years and it will age and change over time to look like it has always been a part of your home.
