Restaurants and gyms have a lot of traffic due to a high amount of movement and constant cleaning. Hence, such places have engineered wooden floors and are good choices for use with under floor heating. Solid floors are ideally not recommended for places with under floor heating as the changes in temperature cause the under floors to dry and expand or contract. The floors sometimes split which can warp the entire floor structure.
Engineered wooden floors have more than one layer of ply wood below the real wood. Oak has a tendency to make a movement due to environmental changes. The under layers are placed at right angles to the top layer which prevent any such movement due to temperature changes.
Multi-layered engineered wooden floors are readily available with many online dealers. These come in a ready to install manner and can be added individually. The process is simple and anyone can perform it.
The floating method is one of the simpler methods to fit your wooden flooring. The top layer of oak is glued along the tongue and groove and is laid over an under-layer of plywood. This allows firmness and more stability in your wooden flooring. Such a hand crafted look can be achieved quickly and is less expensive too.
An underlay such as Envoy multi or Acoustilay 300 comes with one sticky side which is laid faced up. The top layer of oak wooden floor is then laid on to the sticky side.
Engineered wooden floors are sturdy, adaptable and have now gained use in many commercial and residential places.
