The leading wood flooring brand Kährs has supplied yet another high-spec floor to a high profile project, this time a special Kährs Oak Brighton floor to an iconic new urban housing scheme in Clapham, in south west London.
The floor has been specified throughout the development, covering an area of around 1,500m². It has been fitted in Balham Hill, a scheme consisting of 62 chic new apartments spread over two buildings. The buildings at Balham Hill, London overlook a communal garden and a listed and restored World War II access drum.
The floor itself is Kährs Oak Brighton and is a one-strip floor with a white matt lacquer finish. Kahrs are known to be one of the most durable and hard-wearing products available. Its lively wood grain can be found in all six products in the Kährs Sand Collection, the range the floor is from. The collection was crafted in Sweden from Oak and Ash which has been sustainably sourced from locations in Europe.
The Oak Brighton floor was chosen for the project partly for its modern, stylish appearance, but also because of its stability, which comes from its multi-layered construction. The floor is also fast and easy to install, thanks to its glueless Woodloc joint system.
