Water can be particularly damaging to hardwood flooring. Special care and attention should be paid whilst it is being cleaned to ensure that there is no excess water on the wood that could soak into the wood and potentially cause damage. One of the great things about hardwood flooring is that it can be brushed with a soft bristle brush or vacuumed before it is mopped. When you are mopping your new hardwood flooring, the mop should be strained of as much water as possible.

Should there be any spillages of liquids onto your hardwood flooring, it is essential that they be cleaned up quickly. Liquids, particularly coloured liquids can seriously damage hardwood flooring and potentially leave a stain on the wood.
