THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OAK AND WALNUT FLOORINGS

Hardwood flooring is an elegant and luxurious way to add beauty to the décor of your home. From many decades, people have been using hardwood flooring because it is durable and last for years, if regularly maintained. If your wood flooring is damaged, then you can have it refinished without the need to replace it.

There are several choices available for you and you can opt for the floor which suits your requirements the best. Oak is one of the most used floorings but these days maple and walnut have also become popular.

Oak flooring is the not that expensive compared to walnut and maple floors. It is readily available and easy to install. There are two types of oak wood such as red oak and white oak. Oak floors can be finished in different ways so it is easy to get different shades of oak floors. Oak wood has a much tighter grain, some prefer it but others consider it less attractive.

Walnut flooring is darker than oak and it is an open grained wood. Walnut wood is harder than oak but it is softer than many others. It is very difficult to produce the look of natural walnut artificially. If you like walnut wood, do not go for imitations because they will look cheap and fake.
