CHOOSING THE RIGHT WOOD FLOORING

When you think of restructuring your home, you face many hurdles. One of the first decisions is choosing a better floor. You can think of carpet or vinyl flooring. These may not last long. The best option will be going for wood flooring. Here is a list of the types of wood floors which are available.

• Solid hardwood: There are a wide variety of choices. They also come in different colours. These are the ones which are generally most widely acclaimed and appreciated. These floors have a long life and also give a different appearance and feel to the house.

• Engineered flooring: This type of floor consists of layers of wood stuck together.

• Laminated flooring: This is a more cost effective option. The floor has an extra layer to protect against any scratches.

The right selection is of vital importance. It will partly be based on what you can afford, but the quality of wood you use will determine the longevity of your floor as well.
