INSTALL HARDWOOD FLOORING BY FOLLOWING SIMPLE INSTALLATION TIPS

Hardwood flooring plays a key role in any home decoration or renovation project.

The attractive appearance of hardwood flooring cannot be matched by laminates or vinyl coverings, nor can the practicality of it, due to its sturdiness and long-lasting nature.

However, the installation procedure plays a vital role in augmenting the home set up. Follow these simple installation tips to enhance the visual appeal of your home.

Selection of Finishing

Customers can select unfinished wood for its superior rustic charm and exterior. This allows customers to customise their flooring projects with the finish of their choice. Ensure that you cover the unfinished wood completely, while transporting it, as without a protective finish the wood can be marked easily. The unfinished wood can also swell if it comes in contact with water.

Should the client prefer a pre-finished wood, there is a wide variety of flooring that is already sanded and finished.

Install the Planks

The next step is the installing of the planks. Follow this step, only if you are accustomed with DIY projects. Remove the baseboards and place the edges on top of another. Glue the seams with a strong wood adhesive. The flooring should be parallel to the living room’s longest wall. Install the longest pieces at the doorways. Place the smaller pieces throughout the room.

Use Spacers

Use spacers to maintain a distance between the boards. Place the set of planks into the assigned position. Affix the planks firmly with nails. Ensure that the nails are concealed under the base board. Install the nails at the initial part of the planks, every ten to twelve inches in strips and five to eight inches for the planks.

This is a very inexpensive method for installing a hardwood floors, that when completed will look fantastic and provide years of use.
