COMPLETELY ALTER THE MOOD OF A ROOM BY COLOURING YOUR HARDWOOD FLOORING

If your hardwood floor is unfinished, or you have just had it sanded, it is pretty easy to add a colour to it.

There are a lot of different floor colouring oils available, so you should be able to choose a shade that you want, from a startling white to a warm bottle green.

The oils can easily be applied to your flooring using a cloth or roller. The vibrancy and depth of colour will depend on how rough the grit was that you used for sanding. The rougher the grit used, the richer and deeper your final colour will be.

At the moment, darker wood flooring is very fashionable, but if you cannot afford a wenge or maple dark wood, you can always choose an oak floor and stain it darker. That way, you can choose the exact shade you want, even with a hint of cherry red.

The drying process should take between 4 and 8 hours, so if you have a free weekend and fancy a change in colour for one of your rooms, it would a be a perfect time to stain your wooden flooring.
